Our Impact

Membership Matters

At Phi Theta Kappa, our impact is best measured in the lives of our students. Every scholarship awarded, every leadership opportunity offered, and every connection made is an investment in their future—and in the future of our communities, our workforce, and our world.

Our members are not only community college students; they are tomorrow’s doctors, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, first responders, and leaders. Through their stories, we see the true power of opportunity: doors opened, dreams realized, and lives changed.

We invite you to explore the journeys of our students—their challenges, their triumphs, and their successes—as living proof of the difference Phi Theta Kappa makes. Their voices are our evidence. Their achievements are our legacy.

Student Stories

James Elliott

At 19, James Elliott was incarcerated for his role in an armed robbery. More than a decade later, he is an Ivy League graduate and law school student.

Hites

Three students. Three different backgrounds. One shared belief: that education is a tool not just for personal advancement, but for service.

Cordero

Cordero Holmes began taking community college courses through a re-entry program for incarcerated students. From there, his momentum has been unstoppable.

jose solorio2

Jose Solorio organized a bone marrow drive on his community college campus, and even signed up himself. Little did he know that his PTK service would save a life.

Koto Imahori

As PTK Chapter President, Koto Imahori led service initiatives ranging from food banks and clothing drives to visiting nursing homes, and volunteering at blood drives.

Trent Taylor

When you meet Trent Taylor, you don’t see a statistic — you see a scholar, a leader, and a powerful voice for change. But statistically, Trent shouldn’t be here.

Every Gift Has Power

Your generosity fuels ambition, inspires persistence, and makes higher education more accessible to students who are ready to lead. Thank you for believing in the potential of Phi Theta Kappa scholars.
