The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Foundation proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Blake Ellis to its Board of Trustees. Dr. Ellis brings over two decades of experience in higher education, nonprofit leadership, and public service, making him a valuable addition to the Foundation’s governance team.
Dr. Ellis began his PTK journey as a faculty member at Lone Star College in Texas, where he served as a PTK advisor. Driven by his passion for student success and a desire to make an impact on a national level, he joined the Phi Theta Kappa staff and rose through the ranks, ultimately serving as Vice President of Student Engagement. In that position, he developed a deep understanding of the critical role PTK’s programs play in advancing student success, equity, and access. His leadership helped shape initiatives that directly supported members’ academic, personal, and professional growth—work that continues to inform his commitment to PTK’s mission today.

His experience, both in the classroom and at the national level, uniquely positions him to help guide the PTK Foundation’s strategic efforts.”
Dr. Ellis currently serves as Chief Talent Officer and Chief Communications Officer for Harris County Precinct 4 in Texas. His distinguished career in both higher education and government reflects a strong commitment to equity, opportunity, and leadership development. This experience brings valuable insight to the PTK Foundation’s efforts to strengthen workforce pathways and invest in the human capital that drives student success—further advancing PTK’s mission to empower scholars across the country.
His appointment to the Foundation Board strengthens PTK’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to scholarships and leadership opportunities for students in community colleges across the country.
